Pat Holden, originally from a working-class background in Yorkshire, has established himself in the entertainment industry after initially pursuing a career in advertising in London. As a copywriter, he achieved recognition and success, which facilitated his move into directing and filmmaking.

He earned the title of ‘New Director of the Year’ at the Campaign Magazine Craft Awards and received attention for his short films in the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase and the BAFTA Short Film Showcase. His first major film, “AWAYDAYS” (2009), was well-received, opening the London Film Festival and achieving both critical and commercial success.

Holden’s portfolio includes a variety of genres, from the horror film “WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT” (2012) to the thriller “A DANGEROUS ARRANGEMENT” (2015) and the drama “THE BEEKEEPER’S DAUGHTER” (2018). His work has been recognized with awards such as the ISA Fast Track Fellowship and the WGC Jim Burt Screenwriting Prize, and he has several ongoing projects, including “FASTER THAN BULLETS” and “GALAPAGOS.”

After relocating to Canada, Holden continued to develop his career, with his British perspective adding depth to his contributions to the Canadian film and television scene. His move to Vancouver Island has influenced his storytelling, appealing to both local and international audiences.

More recently, Holden co-created and produced the web series “Therapeutic Fibbing,” working with Canadian talents Jessica Fraser and Katrina Prescott. This series, which completed two seasons, has been noted for its original approach to storytelling and its exploration of complex themes.

Holden is a member of BAFTA, the WGC, Directors UK, and the WGGB, indicating his established position in the film and television industry.
